Happy Mother’s Day

Dear Friend,

It is my desire to encourage you today with a special verse that always helped me as a mother raising my 5 children.

“‘For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, nor will My covenant of peace be shaken,’ says the Lord Who has compassion on you.” ~ Isaiah 54:10 AMPC

One version says, “My peace will not come to an end!”

I can’t tell you how many times I would claim this verse! As a mother, I felt like my life was turning upside down…my schedule and my perfectly planned out day would get shaken up—what I thought would be simple, easy-to-handle tasks seemed difficult and beyond my ability to manage.  Life “with children” can have that effect! It is not for the faint of heart to 24/7 care for babies, nurture children, and raise teenagers! It takes a lot as a mother to create a healthy home—spiritually, emotionally and physically— and to keep everyone moving forward, especially when you face obstacles or feel disappointed and discouraged. It’s a 24/7 job. But, knowing that His Covenant of Peace was with me and that it would never end… gave me hope.

When everything goes as planned, that can bring peace. But, when nothing goes as planned, that’s when God’s Peace is necessary. That’s the Peace only the Holy spirit can give. I had to continually learn how to lean on that peace in every stage of motherhood. Another verse that helped me was from John 14…

“But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name — He will teach you all things. And He will bring to your remembrance everything I have told you. Peace I leave with you; My own peace I now give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” ~ John 14:26-27 AMPC

The Holy Spirit is the gift that Jesus and the Father gave us — to guide us, to help us, to comfort us, to advise us, to defend us, and to give us peace. Even when we don’t know what to pray or how to pray, the Holy Spirit will help you.

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to invite Jesus Christ into your heart. He will give you this precious gift of the Holy Spirit, who will strengthen and comfort you and your family in every time of need. You won’t have to face life or difficulties not knowing what to do or how to do it, because His Peace will guide you and show you The Way. Your children will sense that peace in your life and it will comfort them too! I’ve included a gift of some of my favorite verses on peace from which you can find courage and hope. Have a wonderful Mother’s Day Celebration—and remember His promise of Peace is yours and will never end. Take heart and God bless YOU.
